The October show will mark the band’s fourth appearance in San Luis Obispo County in roughly 13 years. Modest Mouse sold out the Alex Madonna Expo Center in 2013, returned to the area for a show at Vina Robles Amphitheater in Paso Robles in 2014, and played the Expo Center again in May 2018.

Modest Mouse formed in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington. The band’s 2004 album Good News for People Who Love Bad News sold more than a million copies, and their 2007 follow-up We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200

The band went on an extended hiatus before reuniting with Strangers to Ourselves in 2015 and The Golden Casket in 2021. The band is set to release their eighth studio album, An Eraser and a Maze, on June 5.
