Poly men's soccer ties Northridge, 1-1

The Cal Poly men’s soccer team played Cal State Northridge to an exciting double-overtime draw, 1-1 Friday night in front of a healthy and boisterous crowd at the Sports Complex.

The Mustangs’ record now stands at 2-4-3 overall and they now move on to San Jose State before returning to conference play at UC Irvine at 7 p.

New lala.com encourages legal music sharing

Music listeners have been trading favorite songs and albums since before the vinyl record, but with the growing popularity of downloading and online CD stores, the communication between music fans has been lost.

Lala.com is trying to change that.

As the newest addition to the Internet music community, the CD-trading Web site encourages communication between users and is completely legal, cheap and easy to use.

Band's ties to athletics significant

Since he joined the Mustang Marching Band as a freshman in the fall of 2004, Cal Poly music junior Steven Becraft has played at dozens of home football and basketball games.

He has fond memories of each of them.

“Out of all the games I’ve already played at, I wouldn’t take back a single one,” said Becraft, who is the section leader for bassoons in the school’s wind ensemble.

Poly club sports growing, diverse

Fall sports have just begun and while everyone will be excited to see the football team in action at the renovated Alex G. Spanos Stadium, there are also excellent club sports that Cal Poly can offer:

Roller Hockey

The Cal Poly Roller Hockey club finished in first place last season among Division I teams in the Western Collegiate Roller Hockey League and finished 11th nationally.
