Classrooms went dark across campus at approximately 2:55 p.m. Thursday as Cal Poly experienced an approximately 30-minute power outage.

Robert E. Kennedy library went dark along with Business (building 3), Graphic Arts (building 26), the Recreation Center and several others.

PG&E spokesperson Blair Jones said there was a momentary outage on its transmission line that sends power to Cal Poly’s substation. Jones said the reason for the outage on PG&E’s line is being investigated.

A Cal Poly spokesperson said that University Housing was not affected but a “significant portion” of campus was down.
