Thousands of demonstrators crowded the streets around the San Luis Obispo Courthouse on Saturday to resist President Donald Trump, his administration and their efforts against federal courts.

Protesters began the afternoon listening to a set of guest speakers, including Congressman Salud Carbajal and Assemblymember Dawn Addis.

Once the speakers wrapped up, people started demonstrating around the courthouse to form a “human shield.” Protesters along Santa Rosa Street were met with many honks of solidarity from passing cars.
