SloDoCo on Foothill will host two local college bands, Dusty Souls and Solar Garlic, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday for an an evening of live music and donuts.
The event is open to the public with free admission.
Composed of Cal Poly and Cuesta College students, Dusty Souls and Solar Garlic have performed at various venues in San Luis Obispo, including bars, restaurants and Lopez Lake.
Dusty Spelman, lead singer and guitarist for Dusty Souls and music junior at Cuesta College, describes their music as “psychedelic inspirations from [their] favorite band, Led Zeppelin.” Spelman said he is most looking forward to playing their set of original songs, along with covers of classic 70s music.
Alex Garton, Solar Garlic rhythm guitarist and materials engineering senior at Cal Poly, described their music as “a mix of psychedelic and alternative rock.” Garton said he is very excited for their set list, especially their rendition of “Stash” by Phish, which their band name is inspired by.
“The band is excited to tear the roof off,” Spelman said. “You can only experience this concert once.”
