The 2012 Great Donut Massacre competition, a Greek Week event, raised money for Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County’s Head Start program. Contestants from different sororities and fraternities competed in four categories: men’s and women’s powdered doughnuts, and men’s and women’s devil cake doughnuts.

Cal Poly sorority Chi Omega raised $6 thousand to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Tri-Counties with their Casino Night. They adopted the wish of a Santa Maria girl diagnosed with Leukemia and helped send her to Disney World.
