Review: Morning on the Green was a clever and exciting replacement to mayhem on the streets
My 3 a.m. alarm buzzed on my phone, and I jolted awake to the sound of an Irish jig and my roommates preparing drinks in the kitchen. Though I despise being woken up early, I had to persevere for my final St. Fratty’s day at Cal Poly.

Cal Poly tries to tame Saint Fratty’s Day – Did it work?
For years, Saint Fratty’s Day has been an unofficial tradition at Cal Poly, drawing thousands of students out to party on the streets. Specifically in the Hathway Alley community near campus. But with growing concerns over safety and rowdy crowds, the university introduced a new event this year—Morning on the Green—aiming to provide a controlled […]
St. Fratty’s reimagined: What worked, what didn’t, and what’s next
This year’s St. Fratty’s celebrations looked unmistakably different from last year’s. The sea of rowdy celebrators decked in green was transplanted from the streets to an on-campus concert. Sure, there were hiccups, but I’ll be the first to admit that it seems to have worked.
