The number of students served by Cal Poly’s Disabilities Resource Center increased by 14% from the 2023-24 academic year to the 2024-25 academic year, following a 25% increase in the prior academic year, due to factors such as increased diagnoses, earlier diagnoses and complications from the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as a change in university policy to increase inclusivity.

No smoking: Cal States considering tobacco ban
San Luis Obispo became the first city in the world to successfully ban smoking in public places in 1990, and now the California State University system is considering adopting a 100 percent tobacco ban.
