Now the townie comes in many forms. He is either the Cal Poly graduate who decided to stay and is still living out his college years with younger girls, the person who grew up locally and never wanted to leave or moved the boy here for work and is “looking to meet new people.” Regardless, they are a lot older and give me major (say this in a high pitch John Ralpheo voice) predatory vibes. Now I’m trying to attack all of the SLO-cals, however I have seen my fair share of guys that are over the age of 23 that have their dating preferences set to 18. Yes, legal, but also yes, creepy, grooming and all around uncomfy. Personally, I try to stay away from these characters just because I have dated the older guy and it’s not fun, but also I do plan on moving on once I graduate. SLO is a great college town, but there’s a reason most of the general population outside of college students is 65+.
