After strong seasons, six former Cal Poly athletes turned pro this year.
This year’s draft marks the first time that Cal Poly had three players selected in an MLS draft.
Cal Poly completed its first undefeated regular season at home with a 0-0 draw against UC Davis.
It was the team’s first Blue-Green Rivalry win in three years.
Thanks to goals by freshman forward Joseph Bolous and junior midfielder Matt LaGrassa, the Cal Poly men’s soccer team outlasted San Francisco 2-1 on Friday in front of nearly 7,000 fans.
Despite a change in leadership, the men’s soccer team kicked off fall training Aug. 13.
“In the past two years we have really come together and jelled, and our players and coaching staff have come together at a better level,” Pridham said. “There is a positive change in the connection that has been built over the past two years. The chemistry and togetherness between the players and the coaching staff really pushed the team to the next level this year.”
The Cal Poly men’s soccer team saw its 2013 season come to an end Tuesday night, as the Mustangs fell 4-1 to Cal State Northridge in the opening round of the Big West Conference tournament.
