There is quite a reputation behind the Poly Royal Rodeo, because I first heard about the rodeo in high school. After attending the Friday night rodeo, I can confidently say it was an entertaining night that lassoed me in. I was so amazed by the Cal Poly rodeo team seniors and graduate students as they showcased their skills.

Poly Royal Rodeo tickets sell out in a week with four times the capacity

Cal Poly Rodeo hosts 5th Annual Break-a-Wave
Cal Poly Rodeo hosted their 5th annual Break-a-wave event in partnership with Outriders Presents. Break-a-wave is a fundraising event for the Cal Poly Rodeo team where they do a rodeo on the beach. Rodeo athletes participated in bucking and break-a-way events in Pismo Beach.

According to Busch, the idea for Break-A-Wave stemmed from the Covid-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, rodeo team members weren’t allowed to formally gather in the rodeo arena, so they took to the public Pismo beach to practice. From there, the idea grew to host a competition on the beach.

Rodeo horse euthanized after suffering paralyzing spinal injury, Veterinary report says
