1. California bill could allow underage students to taste wine

Assembly Bill 1989, introduced by Wesley Chesbro (D-Arcata), allows underage students enrolled in an accredited winemaking or brewing program to taste — but not drink — alcoholic beverages for class. The bill has passed one house of California’s legislature.

2. Student radio hosts offered penis pics in return for donations

An investigation has been launched by Cal Poly officials pertaining to an incident where the KCPR student hosts of a sex talk show offered Snapchat pictures of their genitals and “buttholes” to raise money.

3. Chumash Auditorium hosts live feed of UCSB memorial

This past Friday, Cal Poly live-streamed a memorial service for the victims of the recent UCSB shooting tragedy.

4. Continuing the legacy: Kappa Sigma receives charter

Kappa Sigma fraternity is chartered once again on Cal Poly’s campus, after losing its charter back in 2005. However, this time the fraternity members are determined for their old reputation to stay in the past.

5. Cal Poly looks to mandate finals week office hours 

Faculty office hours regulations have not been updated in nearly 30 years, and are finally being revised for finals week.
