The Mustangs tied their highest ranking of all time after coming in fourth on the latest Associated Volleyball Coaches Association poll.

The Mustangs jumped from sixth to fourth place in the NCAA-recognized poll following two top-ten victories this past weekend against No. 5 ranked TCU and No. 10 ranked LMU at the Center For Effort tournament hosted at Swanson Beach Complex.

Cal Poly received 375 votes and tied with Florida State University, whom they narrowly lost to 3-2 this past weekend.

The top pairing of sophomore Ella Connor and sophomore Izzy Martinez sports a 21-6 record on the season and 8-2 in their last ten matches, including victories over FSU and TCU this past weekend, along with Long Beach State and Cal, all of which are in the top 10.

The second pairing of junior Piper Ferch and Erin Inskeep has a strong 22-4 record and finished 3-1 in matches this past weekend.

The Mustangs have made a dramatic improvement from last season. In the 2022-2023 season, the team finished with a 15-25 overall record and 2-22 against ranked teams.

The program added seven new players to the program to go along with Connor, who redshirted last year to form five new pairings.

The Mustangs travel to New Orleans, LA, on April 19 and 20 to play four matches before the Big West tournament begins on April 25.
