Local man arrested on suspicion of rape of 18-year-old
Following a sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman Thursday evening in the downtown area, police have arrested a man matching the victim’s description. At about 8 p.m. on Thursday, a local resident notified the San Luis Obispo Police Department that a young woman had appeared at the front door, saying she had been sexually assaulted in the San Luis Obispo Creek.

Penguins might not be the first thing that come to mind when you think of motorcycles, but back in 1947, the animal was the perfect mascot for the newly-formed Cal Poly motorcycle club.

The nation will focus on one thing Thursday: climate change solutions.
Cal Poly will participate in the largest teach-in in national history, “Focus the Nation: Global Warming Solutions for America,” in an attempt to further discussion on climate change.
The daylong event, coordinated by the student organization Empower Poly Coalition, will consist of presentations, panel discussions, workshops and various other activities around campus to bring students, faculty and community members together on a common issue.

C-SPAN’s “Road to the White House” bus will be on Mott Lawn today from noon to 2 p.m. to give students the opportunity to interact with key representatives from both parties after taking a 15-minute tour through the multimedia vehicle, which will be running educational videos about the election.
