SLO Symphony to perform ‘A Grand Occasion,’ opening with work inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.

Exploring all things fungi with Cal Poly’s Mycology Club
In a damp oak forest in Los Osos, a group of 15 students milled about in the underbrush on the hunt for an unlikely treasure. With boots sinking into the muddy earth, they kept their eyes carefully peeled for the distinctive caps and growths on damp wood and decomposing leaves.
“Look out for the orange mushrooms everyone!” biological sciences senior Kimberly Dispenza said.
The group of students in search of this unlikely treasure is Cal Poly’s Mycology Club—a club devoted to exploring all things fungi.
Youtuber Noel Miller comes to Cal Poly
On Jan. 25, Associated Students Incorporated (ASI) posted on their Instagram account that they are hosting a stand-up comedy show featuring Noel Miller on Wednesday, Feb. 7 in the Cal Poly Recreation Center Main Gym (BLDG43). The event is free of charge and open to all Cal Poly students.
