County reports highest number of new COVID-19 cases since August, 10 students test positive
San Luis Obispo County reported 49 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 28, according to County Public Health. This is the most new COVID-19 cases reported in one day since Aug. 29, when 61 new cases were reported.

Amid COVID-19 budget cuts, university appoints administrator to a second position and pauses hiring search
Following a projected budget deficit of $35 million amid COVID-19-related losses, Cal Poly will appoint Interim Dean of the Orfalea College of Business (OCOB) Al Liddicoat to simultaneously serve in a second administrative position. Over 100 students rated their mental health at zero in an Instagram poll. Here are some of their responses.
Mustang News put out a poll on our instagram asking students to rate their mental health on a scale from 0-100. The poll received over 400 responses, with 124 of them rating their mental health at zero. The overall average rating was less than 50.
